Melissa Weaver, our intrepid correspondent at California's Santa Cruz Sentinel, reports that when students at UC-Santa Cruz protest, they don't mess around."I covered a pretty intense student protest and made the front page during my first week," she writes. "It put the UM protests to shame. Two hundred-plus students and UC Santa Cruz workers got together in matching t-shirts and matched downtown ... blocking a major intersection for two hours."
Her story got picked up by the Mercury News, a bigger paper in nearby San Jose.
